AWS announces startups for healthcare workforce accelerator

The latest cohort includes 23 companies focused on technology for retaining, deploying and training healthcare workers.

Amazon Web Services on Monday announced the 23 startups that will participate in the latest round of its healthcare accelerator.

The four-week program is focused on digital health tools that aim to address workforce challenges, including retaining healthcare workers, deploying clinicians to new sites of care, and training or upskilling for providers. 

The startups in the latest cohort include: 

  • Momo Medical, which offers the BedSense app for monitoring memory care and nursing home residents.

  • eConsult, a digital triage and remote consult platform.

  • Navenio, an indoor location tracking platform for healthcare workers.

  • babblevoice, a phone system geared toward primary care.

  • RxPlace, a B2B marketplace for pharmacy operations.

  • Dropstat, an AI-backed staffing tool. 

  • Hypercare, a healthcare coordination, communication and scheduling app.

  • SQUID iQ, medical device tracking and management software.

  • Doc Abode, automated workforce scheduling software.

  • Rose Health, a patient-monitoring tool for mental healthcare providers.

  • IoT Solutions Group, which offers remote monitoring sensors for seniors and vulnerable people.

  • PathologyWatch, which provides digital pathology tools for dermatologists.

  • The TeleDentists, a virtual dentistry service that connects patients with local appointments for follow-up.

  • Visionable, video meeting and consultation tools.

  • InformMe, which offers digital patient-communication tools and educational resources.

  • Mytonomy, which provinces video-based patient engagement and instructions.

  • Kare Mobile, mobile dental care clinics.

  • Supportiv, an app that connects people to peer support.

  • Grapefruit Health, which recruits, trains and manages clinical care students so they can remotely support healthcare organizations.

  • MOONHUB, a virtual reality training platform.

  • Proximie, which allows clinicians to virtually "scrub in" to operating rooms.

  • Compassly, which keeps track of providers' clinical skills.

  • Florence, which offers virtual training and connects healthcare facilities with nurses and support workers.

THE LARGER TREND

AWS launched its first healthcare accelerator in 2021, a partnership with pediatric health accelerator KidsX. Last year, the company's program focused on health equity, and it recently announced 11 participants for an aged care accelerator in Australia and New Zealand.
