Rx.Health — a Mount Sinai Health System spinoff that has built an app prescription platform for enterprises — has raised $1.8 million in seed funding. According to a statement, the investment will help the company pursue new clients and support the launch of its digital therapeutics and patient engagement tool, Bulk Prescription.

"In addition to health systems, we're now able to capitalize on the advanced discussions we're having with payers and accountable care organizations. These discussions always change the application of your products, which in turn naturally fuels R&D.”

Rx.Health’s leading product is RxUniverse, an enterprise-level, HIPAA-compliant platform that connects with a system’s EHR and allows practitioners to efficiently prescribe various therapeutic apps. The platform is available on iOS and Android, can be customized for and by individual customers, and can be deployed in 90 days, according to the company.

The spinoff’s newly launched offering, Bulk Prescription, looks to help care teams prescribe and deploy care plans and digital therapeutics en mass. Designed to help manage entire cohorts, it will also allow individual patients control their symptoms by facilitating immediate access to education, remote monitoring, or a digital therapeutic via a device. Data collected from these patients is then collected and fed back into the system’s EHR and care management systems.

According to a statement, Rx.Health is planning to first roll out Bulk Prescription to providers caring for patient cohorts with certain chronic diseases. RxUniverse, on the other hand, is already live across a number of health systems in the US.
