Ride share company Lyft has brought on Megan Callahan as its first VP of healthcare to advance its business as a non-emergency medical transportation supplier for hospitals. Callahan’s resume includes a chief strategy officer position at Change Healthcare and an SVP of corporate strategy and business development role at McKesson.

“During this time of incredible growth, we have a unique opportunity to drive meaningful impact by reducing the healthcare transportation gap for patients, which is a key factor in improving social determinants of health and lowering costs,” Callahan said.

Meanwhile, Uber’s future health-related efforts will be supported by the company’s latest hires: Aaron Crowell, a health consultant, as the head of its health business; and Dan Trigub, formerly of Lyft, has also come on board. According to CNBC, the two each said they accepted their positions based on Uber’s “very unique position” in the healthcare industry.

Neurotrack, a digital health company targeting memory loss and cognitive illnesses, has hired Neil Rothstein as its new chief commercial officer. Neil comes from a four-year stint as 23andMe’s VP of marketing and consumer care, and prior to that an 11-year position as a head of online marketing at Netflix.

Yesterday morning, wearable biometric company Valencell named Kent Novak as the company’s new CEO. Before coming to Valencell, Novak served as SVP and general manager at Texas Instruments.

Prenatal app and remote monitoring platform Babyscripts has announced Dr. Nirmal Patel as its chief clinical transformation officer. Patel, who has more than 20 years of experience developing primary care delivery systems and digital health offerings, will be leading the company’s managed care strategy and support customers looking to leverage the Babyscripts platform for value-based payer agreements.

This week T1D, a Boston-based diabetes research organization, named a slew of new board members. The appointees include David Walton, CEO of digital health company Chronicare; Gina Agiostratidou, the program director for Helmsley Charitable Trust’s Type 1 Diabetes Program; Jack Collins, the senior vice president of finance for P&B Intermodal Services; and Cristina Csimma, a biopharmaceutical executive and strategic advisor. 

The four new board members were appointed to join for a three-year term. 

“These new members bring to the Board the kind of deep personal and professional experience in type 1 diabetes, financial and scientific management, and therapeutic development that is critical to T1D Exchange fulfilling its mission of accelerating therapies and improving care for people with type 1 diabetes,” Board Chair Keith Ryan, said in a statement. “We are fortunate to be able to bring their dedication and expertise to our already robust team.”

Healthcare navigation platform Quantum Health has tapped Dr. Michael Sokol to be its new SVP of clinical strategy. Before joining Quantum Sokol served as the chief medical officer at WebMD. He also has experience working with big pharma including Sanofi, Merk and GlaxoSmithKline. 

At Quantum he will be a lead clinical strategist for its clients and consultant partners.

Former Mango Health CEO Janson Oberfest is joining Apple’s health team in an unspecified role, according to his new LinkedIn status, which was first spotted by CNBC.

Mango Health, which started in 2012, has achieved success, or at least longetivity, as a gameified, incentive-based medication adherence app. He's spoken with MobiHealthNews a number of times about his approach. 

In late November Mango announced that Yadin Shemmer would be taking Oberfest’s role at Mango.
